Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, California, is seeking a Part-Time Merchandise Clerk who thrives in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused setting. You will support retail operations, assist guests with merchandise, and help ensure accurate transactions and inventory.

Role requires solid customer service, basic POS proficiency, and a willingness to learn. This is a part-time position with opportunities for growth within the Troon organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with POS systems preferred.
• Computer skills including Excel required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with retail sales, merchandising and provides exceptional customer service to guests.
• Processes and records sales transactions and maintains accountability for all sales and money transactions.
• Tags and prices items and assists with receiving and shipping.
• Creates appealing displays and rotates stock to keep displays clean and organized.
• Assists with monthly/quarterly inventories and general shop cleaning.
• Ability to multi-task, answer phones, greet members and place orders.

Description

Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, California, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity of Part‑Time Merchandise Clerk! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Compensation: $17.50 - $18.75 per hour

General Purpose:

Assists with retail sales, merchandising and provides exceptional customer service to guests.

• Acknowledges guests upon entrance into retail facility.
• Assists the guest by selling merchandise and providing information in a professional manner.
• Assists guests by preparing any special orders requested.
• Processes and records sales transactions. Maintains accountabilities for all sales and money transactions made.
• Tags and prices items.
• Assists with the receiving and shipping.
• Assists with rotating stock, keeping displays clean and orderly and creating appealing displays.
• Ensures clothing and gift items are in the proper locations.
• Assists with general cleaning of the shop.
• Assists with monthly/quarterly physical inventories.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently stands and uses hands, reaches with hands and arms, talks or hears.
• Occasionally walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.
• Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Noise level is moderate.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).

Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems.

Other qualifications:

• Computer skills such as Point of Sales (POS) systems, inventory, Microsoft Office including excel is required.
• Ability to multi-task - answer phones, greet members and answer questions and place orders.
