Job summary

Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, California seeks a Part-Time Merchandise Clerk to join its hospitality-focused team. You will assist guests, process sales, stock displays, and maintain accurate records using POS systems. Prior experience with retail or merchandising and basic computer skills are preferred.

This role offers a friendly, fast-paced environment with opportunities to learn and grow within the Troon-managed property. High school diploma or GED is acceptable; training provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
• Computer skills including Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests upon entering the retail area.
• Sell merchandise and provide information in a professional manner.
• Prepare special orders as requested.
• Process sales transactions and maintain accuracy of money handling.
• Tag and price items.
• Assist with receiving and shipping.
• Rotate stock and maintain clean, appealing displays.
• Ensure items are in proper locations.
• Assist with inventory counts.
• Follow safe work practices and maintain regular attendance.

Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, California, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity of Part-Time Merchandise Clerk! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Compensation

$17.50 - $18.75 per hour

General Purpose

Assists with retail sales, merchandising and provides exceptional customer service to guests.

Essential Duties

• Acknowledges guests upon entrance into retail facility.
• Assists the guest by selling merchandise and providing information in a professional manner.
• Assists guests by preparing any special orders requested.
• Processes and records sales transactions. Maintains accountabilities for all sales and money transactions made.
• Tags and prices items.
• Assists with the receiving and shipping.
• Assists with rotating stock, keeping displays clean and orderly and creating appealing displays.
• Ensures clothing and gift items are in the proper locations.
• Assists with general cleaning of the shop.
• Assists with monthly/quarterly physical inventories.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

• Frequently stands and uses hands, reaches with hands and arms, talks or hears.
• Occasionally walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.
• Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise

• Noise level is moderate.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences

• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
• Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems.

Other qualifications

• Computer skills such as Point of Sales (POS) systems, inventory, Microsoft Office including excel is required.
• Ability to multi-task - answer phones, greet members and answer questions and place orders.
