Job summary

NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM) in Virginia Beach seeks a Merchandising Systems professional to support the day-to-day operation of the BI network and to assist in creating analytic methods for improving merchandise requirements. The position requires three years of merchandising knowledge, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Excel/Access within the Microsoft Office suite.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in merchandising technical or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a knowledge of merchandising and procurement practices.
• Ability to deal with others in person-to-person work relationships and exercise mature judgment.
• Specialized experience in data warehousing, analytical reporting, or similar work.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes current business trends and projects sales to highlight risks and opportunities.
• Identifies data requirements and merchant needs to develop reports for business analysis.
• Collaborates with end users to identify opportunities for improved analytics and distribution.
• Develops and manages BI analytic workflow and schedule.
• Produces analysis of marketing metrics as scheduled.
• Assists in data collection for updates on BI solution design.
• Executes day-to-day ad hoc analytic requests as needed.
• Reviews planning metrics for accuracy and provides input for corrections.
• Assists in curriculum creation for planning processes and retail BI fundamentals.
