Job summary

Macy's is seeking a Merchandise Assistant to support buying office teams and develop toward an Assistant Buyer role. The position involves operational support for Digital, Buying, and Creative teams, including photography planning and PO creation.

You will generate AdHoc Excel reports, maintain the PO log, and coordinate with vendors to keep item data up to date while tracking logistics and sample movements for product photography.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is encouraged.
• Basic arithmetic and data interpretation skills are required.
• Ability to access and review written and electronic information, and to work with office systems.

Responsibilities

• Generate AdHoc Excel reports for PO, POS, price changes, and daily sales.
• Assist in maintaining the purchase order logbook with the buying team.
• Own the PO creation process by coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
• Track merchandise logistics and troubleshoot shipping issues.
• Prepare reports for the buying team and vendor partners.
• Manage vendor contacts and sample movements for photography planning.
