Job summary

Westat is seeking Field Interviewers for the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) to conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults in households across designated areas. You will travel as needed, schedule interviews, and collect signed documents using a Westat-provided laptop.

Training in January 2027 is mandatory, with travel for local and occasional longer trips. This part-time, non-exempt role runs across two data collection periods each year.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and able to sign confidentiality agreements.
• Willing to travel for mandatory training and fieldwork, including overnight travel.
• Available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a personal vehicle meeting insurance requirements.
• Residence in project-designated areas with ability to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults in households.
• Identify eligible respondents, schedule interviews, and collect required documents.
• Transmit collected data daily to Westat field supervisor.
• Complete administrative paperwork in a timely manner.
