Job summary

Westat is seeking Field Interviewers for the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) to conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults in households across the United States.

This part-time, year-round data collection role requires travel to in-person training in January 2027 and may include overnight travel. Data transmission is daily, and background screening may be required.

Qualifications

• Be available to complete mandatory web-based home study training between January 4 and January 15, 2027.
• Be available to travel to mandatory in-person training January 19–25, 2027.
• Be available to complete additional mandatory training following the in-person training (Jan 26–31, 2027).
• Be able to meet the physical requirements: lift 20 pounds, walk blocks, climb stairs with equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person interviews with adults in households and collect data.
• Transmit electronic data daily when working.
• Travel to MEPS training sessions and potentially travel to local or long-distance households.
• Complete administrative paperwork and follow data security requirements.
