Job summary

OEI (O'Brien Engineering & Architecture) is seeking a full-time Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing VDC Technician with 2+ years of Revit experience to join our collaborative A/E team in Dallas. You will create and maintain BIM models, develop MEP drawings, coordinate with architects and engineers, and support VDC processes across project lifecycles, ensuring model accuracy and compliance with codes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience using Autodesk Revit in an A/E/MEP environment.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows and coordination with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain BIM models using Revit.
• Develop MEP drawings, plans, sections, and schedules from BIM.
• Support VDC processes throughout project lifecycles.
• Coordinate models with architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
• Participate in model reviews to resolve design conflicts.
• Ensure models comply with project requirements and codes.
• Generate quantities, takeoffs, and reports from BIM models.
• Maintain model accuracy and document revisions.
• Support project teams with model-based MEP planning and visualization.
• Organize templates, families, and BIM content libraries.
• Assist in developing BIM standards and workflows.
• Provide technical support and training to team members.
