Job summary

McGough is seeking an MEP Project Specialist to provide technical leadership across the full lifecycle, from concept through turnover. The role emphasizes procurement, installation, startup, and integration of BAS, EPMS, EMS, and PLC/SCADA systems. Ideal candidates have 4+ years in MEP engineering on complex facilities and a track record of coordinating with engineers, subcontractors and clients.

Office-based in St. Paul with site travel in the Minneapolis/St.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the design, installation, operation, or commissioning of MEP engineered systems for complex projects such as mission-critical facilities, semiconductor fabrication facilities, cleanrooms, hospitals, clinics, pharmaceutical facilities, or central utility plants.

Responsibilities

• Review project documents for compliance and constructability; participate in client/A-E reviews; support cost-saving opportunities and procurement; help identify long-lead equipment and assist with procurement.
• Assist Project Manager and subs in interpreting contract documents; help develop RFIs; conduct on-site reviews with MEP subs to review progress and planning; provide QA/QC oversight of MEP installations; give feedback on scheduling, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Review drawings to confirm systems are installed for operation, support startup of major equipment, and assist with complex controls systems (I&C, BAS, PLC, PCS, SCADA, EMS); review close-out docs for compliance; train project staff; stay current on trends.
• Provide mentorship to staff; collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align risk management and follow standard work; participate in Lean events and promote McGough initiatives; represent McGough in the community.
