Job summary

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to review, provide analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues with project team members and participants. Your ability to remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success.

The base pay range is provided in the ad; you will interact with staff at all levels and manage site logistics, plans, and the utilization of Mortenson tools.

Qualifications

• Degree or 10 years of trade experience required.
• Minimum 8 years of construction experience with 2+ years in supervision.
• Strong electrical construction background with MEP leadership on large projects.
• Ability to manage multiple complex data center projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide coordination, planning, and supervision for MEP scopes of work.
• Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service.
• Plan and implement to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule.
• Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.
• Review and understand contract documents.
• Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies.
• Participate in developing and managing project schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedules.
• Develop a site logistics plan.
• Manage the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with project partner superintendents.

SUMMARY

Your ability to remain flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient with an elevated level of integrity and confidentiality is vital to your success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide coordination, planning, and supervision for MEP scopes of work
• Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service
• Plan and implement to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule
• Review construction documents for completeness and constructability
• Review and understand contract documents
• Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies
• Participate in the development and management of project schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedules
• Develop a site logistics plan
• Manage the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment
• Collaborate with project partner superintendents

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate or bachelor's degree in construction, Civil, or Architectural, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering or 10 years trade experience
• Minimum 8 years of construction experience with two of those years having supervisory experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor
• Strong electrical construction background with experience leading MEP scopes on large, complex projects.
• Ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex data centerprojects
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks
• Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
• Microsoft Office skills at an intermediate level
• Positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
• Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback

The base pay range for this role is $111,400 - $167,100. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
