Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. is seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to lead the startup and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and control systems on New York projects. You will coordinate with subcontractors, the design team, and clients to ensure adherence to contract documents and schedules.

This role requires strong leadership, superior communication, and proven ability to plan and drive commissioning activities, resolve MEP conflicts, and manage documentation. Travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree strongly preferred in construction, engineering or business; exceptions for equivalent experience.
• 4 years experience in Mechanical or Electrical System Construction.
• 3 years combined experience in Mission Critical / Hospital / MEP Project Management / Start-up & Commissioning.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong leadership skills; able to build and lead a team.
• Capable of coordinating and scheduling MEP activities.
• Aptitude for problem solving.
• Ability to work independently; motivated self-starter.
• Preconstruction / Equipment Procurement experience.
• Willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist bidding mechanical and electrical trades.
• Manage Equipment Procurement process.
• Develop MEP critical path schedule.
• Coordinate and track critical path construction and startup activities.
• Track and coordinate equipment deliveries.
• Review mechanical and electrical submittals.
• Organize and conduct project meetings for critical MEP activities.
• Develop MOP for critical work in live environments.
• Work with subcontractors and design team for conflict resolution on MEP issues.
• Coordinate and manage QC for MEP systems construction.
• Manage startup and pretesting; coordinate third-party commissioning.
• Manage commissioning documentation; build strong client relations.
