Job summary

HITT Contracting is seeking an MEP Assistant Superintendent to develop skills in technical MEP construction and management. You will work directly with the project MEP Superintendent on field inspections, progress updates, document control, equipment inspections, and commissioning support.

You’ll help coordinate the MEP critical path, track submittals, and coordinate equipment deliveries while collaborating with the site team and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; a four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
• 2-5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor.
• Passion for the construction industry.
• Ability to recognize and seek quality.
• Strong communication skills; verbal and written.
• Strong leadership skills; able to build and lead a team.
• Aptitude for problem solving.
• Ability to work independently.
• Willingness to travel.
• Effectively utilize computer and software technology in the performance of duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain adherence to HITT’s standards of safety.
• Assist bidding mechanical and electrical trades.
• Ensure that required documentation is filed.
• Assist in conducting project meetings and record minutes.
• Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the life of the project.
• Assist in developing an MEP critical path schedule.
• Update project schedule, establish overall project logistics.
• Assist in coordinating and tracking critical path construction and startup activities.
• Review mechanical and electrical submittals.
• Track and coordinate equipment deliveries.
• Assist MEP Manager to provide conflict resolution for MEP issues.
• Assist in coordinating and managing the quality control process for MEP systems construction.
• Assist in managing startup and pretesting of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Assist coordinating and supporting third party commissioning activities.
• Manage commissioning documentation.
• Assist in managing the closeout process.
