Job summary

Verdex Construction is seeking an MEP Superintendent to join our Operations team in Florida. You will lead coordination of MEP installation, review submittals, and ensure safety and quality on site.

The role supports project managers, manages MEP activities, and coordinates with designers, subcontractors, and utilities to meet schedule and budget. Previous MEP coordination and leadership experience required.

Verdex Construction is looking for an MEP Superintendent to join our Operations team to be part of our mission of \"Building Something Better\".

The MEP Superintendent supports the Project Manager and/or General Superintendent to ensure that company policies and procedures are followed in the field regarding safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The MEP Superintendent is responsible for directly managing a project’s MEP construction activities to meet specifications within budgeted cost by the scheduled completion date. The MEP Superintendent may be the lead superintendent on small projects or be responsible for a specific area of a larger project.

Essential Functions
  • Lead design professionals and subcontractors in the development of coordinated MEPS documents necessary to graphically represent (Mechanical, Electrical, Elevators, Plumbing and Sprinkler) MEP installation.
  • Coordinate and manage general conditions of work and project logistics.
  • Collaborate with public utility suppliers to obtain final service connections in compliance with determined project schedule delivery date and system startups.
  • Complete the technical review and approval of all MEP submittals.
  • Manage MEP project closeout, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Achieve all required MEP jurisdictional inspections.
  • Resolve all clash detections identified by the development of the coordination documents.
  • Oversee process for state elevator inspections.
  • Enforce high safety standards for MEP activities on job site.
  • Inspect the quality of work for compliance with design standard and ensure corrective action occurs if/when necessary.

Requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Strong technical and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore.
  • Must be construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction.
  • Must have experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Must have strong knowledge and appreciation of construction safety processes and ability to enforce the project safety plan.
  • Must be able to create an environment where “safety first” is the culture and all trades people work with an incident and injury free attitude.
  • Must have experience supervising a project team.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Equivalent Experience.
  • 5+ years working with MEP trade Coordination.
