Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager I to lead Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing scope on medium to large projects, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence. You will mentor project teams and foster strong client relationships while managing budgets, subcontracts, and commissioning activities.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, at least six years of construction management experience, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural, Mechanical, and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience.
• Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for complex projects.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.
• Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
• Minimum six years construction management experience, preferably experience with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor.
• Current driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall financial health of projects.
• Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections.
• Determine and allocate project estimates into the financial system.
• Determine cost codes, approve invoices, and make necessary budget management decisions.
• Provide financials and billings to Accounting for timely payment.
• Create monthly owner billings.
• Oversee budget and select trade partners and suppliers.
• Oversee the 3‑D coordination process to resolve conflicts prior to installation.
• Direct and manage the commissioning process, including the startup plan, COT, commissioning schedule, and functional testing.
• Lead all activities required in project closeout, including operations and maintenance manuals, model turnover, and training.
• Manage Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s).
