Job summary

Markent Personnel seeks an MEP Project Manager to lead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing efforts on project sites with travel to Vernon, TX. The role guides safety, coordinates subs, and drives QA/QC to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and client satisfaction.

The PM serves as the principal project leader, coordinating between the project team and client, making expeditious decisions, and promoting efficiency and quality throughout construction.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Five (5) years of construction management experience required.
• Experience managing trades valued at $50MM.
• Experience with large/complex safety plan implementation.
• PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety program for the project.
• Ensure subs have materials, equipment, and trades required.
• Oversee subcontractors and vendors to meet schedule and scope.
• Perform QA/QC to meet project specs and quality standards.
• Prepare and communicate daily progress reports to stakeholders.
• Lead site walkthroughs for safety and cleanliness.
• Identify and resolve field and design issues.
• Lead meetings to coordinate work and labor concerns.
• Represent site team in owners' meetings.
• Develop site logistics plan with the General Superintendent.
• Create scopes of work for each subcontractor.
• Conduct constructability reviews.

MEP Project Manager

Location: Vernon, TX - Traveling

Job Summary:

The MEP Project Manager develops, coordinates, implements, and manages all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing facets necessary to construct the project on time, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction. The PM provides leadership and serves as the liaison between project team members and the client to promote the interest of both the company and the client in all matters. The PM is the primary leader for the construction project and is charged with utilizing their experience and knowledge to make expeditious decisions, model efficiency and run projects efficiently.

Primary Duties:

• Leading in administering the safety program for the project
• Ensuring superintendents have the necessary trades, materials, and equipment available to efficiently construct the project
• Overseeing subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, etc. to support project schedule delivery and scope of work commitments
• Performing and overseeing of project specific QA/QC practices to ensure project delivered to project specifications and standards of quality
• Completing and communicating daily reports of activities that were scheduled and competed, along with other communications regarding the project’s progress to all stakeholders
• Completing walk-throughs of the site to ensure safety, cleanliness, and standards are maintained
• Identifying and resolving field and design issues
• Leading meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns
• Representing the site team in owners’ meetings
• Developing and maintaining the site logistics plan for the project in conjunction with the General Superintendent
• Developing scopes of work for each subcontractor
• Performing constructability reviews
• Arranging and leading preconstruction meetings with all subcontractors prior to beginning each phase of work
• Tracking field progress against the “plan,” assisting in the development of the recovery plans if necessary
• Participating in ensuring quality control is in accordance with the established project quality assurance program
• Scheduling and leading the project close-out process
• Coordinating punch list items and procedures
• Managing of the project permit process
• Participating in the development of strategic plans including VDC

• Assists with administering the site safety program as required and ensuring Trade Partner compliance with OSHA standards and Site Specific Requirements and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
• Other related duties as needed and assigned by Management in support of the successful completion of the project.

Qualifications:

• An undergraduate University degree or higher (preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field) is preferred
• Other relevant education, training or work experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of five (5) years construction management experience
• Experience in managing trades valued at $50MM
• Experience with large / complex safety plan implementation
• PMP certified preferred

Requirements:

• Strong working knowledge of programs such as Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project
• Experience with large / complex safety plan implementation
• A proven track record of organizing project teams to accomplish project goals
• Effective negotiation and contract management skills to represent the company with the Client
• Experience in managing a project using established methods of cost reporting, i.e. cash flow, safety, cost, schedule, VDC
• Extensive knowledge of all facets of construction
