Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager in San Jose, CA to lead mechanical, electrical and plumbing projects from preconstruction through commissioning.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and change orders; coordinate with owners, engineers, GC and subcontractors; ensure safety, quality and codes; and mentor junior staff using MS Project, Primavera and BIM/Revit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive MEP project management experience on commercial or industrial construction.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and installation practices.
• Experience with budgeting, scheduling and change orders.
• PMP, PE or LEED is a plus; OSHA 30 required.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of MEP work including planning, estimating, scheduling, procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout.
• Develop budgets, cash flow forecasts and cost control processes; prepare and negotiate change orders.
• Coordinate with owners, design engineers, general contractors and subcontractors to resolve technical and schedule issues.
• Oversee mechanical contractor activities and field teams; provide direction to foremen and trade leads on mechanical, plumbing, piping and electrical scope.
• Ensure compliance with contract documents, applicable codes, standards and safety requirements (OSHA and company policies).
• Implement quality control and commissioning procedures for HVAC, plumbing, piping and electrical systems.
• Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, schedules, daily reports and closeout packages.
• Drive continuous communication with stakeholders; lead progress meetings and provide regular status reports to senior management and clients.
• Use project management tools (MS Project, Primavera or similar) and BIM/Revit coordination to sequence work and resolve clashes.
• Mentor and develop junior project staff; foster a culture of safety, teamwork and accountability.

MEP Project Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead mechanical, electrical and plumbing projects from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget while meeting quality and code requirements. This role requires strong technical knowledge of Mechanical, Plumbing, Piping, Electrical and HVAC systems, demonstrated construction experience, and the ability to coordinate design teams, subcontractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• 7+ years of progressive MEP project management experience on commercial or industrial construction projects (experience as a Mechanical Contractor preferred)
• Proven technical knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, piping, electrical and HVAC systems and installation practices
• Experience with estimating, budgeting, scheduling and change order management; proficient with MS Project, Primavera or similar scheduling tools
• Familiarity with BIM/Revit coordination and construction document review
• Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholders and subcontractors
• Working knowledge of building codes, mechanical and electrical standards, and commissioning practices
• OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training required; PMP, PE, LEED or other relevant certifications are a plus
• Valid drivers license and ability to travel to project sites as required
