Job summary

iLocatum is seeking an MEP Project Manager to lead the data center construction in Anderson, SC. This traveling role will develop, coordinate, and manage all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects to deliver on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.

You'll serve as the primary site leader, coordinating with subs, vendors, and the client, enforcing safety and QA, and driving project performance from preconstruction through close-out.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience.
• Experience managing trades valued at $50 million or more.
• Experience with large or complex safety plan implementation.
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead administration of the safety program for the project.
• Ensure superintendents have necessary trades, materials, and equipment.
• Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to support schedule delivery.
• Perform QA/QC to meet specifications and quality standards.
• Complete daily activity reports and progress updates to stakeholders.
• Conduct site walk-throughs for safety and standards.
• Identify and resolve field and design issues.
• Lead meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.
• Represent the site team in owners' meetings.
• Develop and maintain the site logistics plan with the General Superintendent.
• Develop scopes of work for each subcontractor.
• Perform constructability reviews.
• Arrange and lead preconstruction meetings ahead of each project phase.
• Track field progress and assist in recovery plans.
• Ensure QA aligns with the project QA program.
• Schedule and lead project close-out and punch list coordination.
• Manage the project permit process.
• Participate in strategic planning, including VDC.

About The Role

A construction company is looking for an MEP Project Manager to develop, coordinate, implement, and manage all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing facets needed to construct a data center project on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction. You'll serve as the primary leader for the construction project and the key liaison between the project team and the client, using your experience and judgment to make expeditious decisions and run the project efficiently. This is a traveling role.

What You’ll Do

• Lead administration of the safety program for the project
• Ensure superintendents have the necessary trades, materials, and equipment to efficiently construct the project
• Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to support schedule delivery and scope of work commitments
• Perform and oversee project-specific QA/QC practices to ensure the project meets specifications and quality standards
• Complete and communicate daily activity reports and other project progress updates to stakeholders
• Conduct site walk-throughs to ensure safety, cleanliness, and standards are maintained
• Identify and resolve field and design issues
• Lead meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns
• Represent the site team in owners' meetings
• Develop and maintain the site logistics plan with the General Superintendent
• Develop scopes of work for each subcontractor
• Perform constructability reviews
• Arrange and lead preconstruction meetings ahead of each project phase
• Track field progress against the plan, assisting in recovery plan development as needed
• Ensure quality control aligns with the project's established QA program
• Schedule and lead the project close-out process, including punch list coordination

What You Bring

• Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience
• Experience managing trades valued at $50 million or more
• Experience with large or complex safety plan implementation
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project
• Proven track record organizing project teams to accomplish project goals
• Effective negotiation and contract management skills to represent the company with the client
• Experience managing projects using established cost reporting methods (cash flow, safety, cost, schedule, VDC)
• Extensive knowledge of all facets of construction
• Understanding of contract types and terms, including General Conditions, burn rates, and fee analysis
• Understanding of insurance programs, including SDI, builder's risk policies, OCIP, and CCIP

Nice to Have

• Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field (or equivalent relevant education, training, or work experience)
• PMP certification
• Data center construction experience

Compensation and Benefits

$150,000 to $200,000 per year. Standard benefits package.
