Job summary

TYG is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection scopes on large-scale data center projects in Texas.

You will manage MEP subcontractors, coordinate with design teams, BIM/VDC, and the client, drive preconstruction and buyout through turnover, and advance into senior PM leadership within our Mission Critical group.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of construction experience with a strong MEP background.
  • Experience working for a General Contractor, Mechanical Contractor or Electrical Contractor.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical construction.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and trade partners.
  • Comfortable managing RFIs, submittals, procurement, change orders and project financials.
  • Experience working on large, technically complex construction projects.
  • Data center or mission critical experience is preferred.
  • Candidates from other MEP-intensive sectors such as semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical or healthcare construction will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection scopes on large-scale data center projects.
  • Manage MEP subcontractors throughout the project.
  • Support preconstruction, estimating, scope reviews and subcontractor buyout.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement and long-lead equipment.
  • Review change orders, pay applications, budgets and cost forecasts.
  • Work closely with the Superintendent and field teams to manage the MEP schedule and installation.
  • Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, vendors and the client to resolve issues.
  • Manage MEP coordination and work alongside the BIM/VDC team.
  • Track equipment and material procurement against the construction schedule.
  • Ensure MEP installation meets the required quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinate startup, testing and commissioning activities.
  • Work with the commissioning team through functional testing and integrated systems testing.
  • Manage punch lists, turnover documentation and closeout.

Job description

We are working with a leading national General Contractor looking to add an MEP Project Manager to their Mission Critical team in Texas.

They have a strong pipeline of large-scale data center work and are looking for someone who can take ownership of the MEP packages from preconstruction and buyout through construction, commissioning and turnover.

This role would suit someone currently working for a GC, mechanical contractor or electrical contractor who has experience managing complex MEP packages and wants to continue building their career within the data center market.

The role
