Job summary

Simpson & Simpson Management Consulting seeks an experienced Project Manager II with a strong MEPF background for a major terminal improvement program at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This on-site role requires overseeing planning, design, construction, testing, commissioning, and turnover of MEPF systems.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience, a relevant engineering degree, and proficiency with design-build delivery methods, commissioning, and BIM coordination tools.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience managing MEP design and construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire/life safety, BAS.
• Experience with commissioning, system integration, and turnover.
• Airport project experience preferred.
• Experience with Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and/or CMAR.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Bluebeam; Revit/BIM coordination tools a plus.
• PE, PMP, LEED, or other relevant certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage MEPF scope, schedule, budget, and project performance.
• Coordinate MEPF design, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with designers, contractors, consultants, vendors, operations, and maintenance teams.
• Review RFIs, submittals, technical changes, and construction documentation.
• Identify and resolve design, constructability, and system-integration issues.
• Coordinate system shutdowns, tie-ins, phasing, and activities affecting existing operations.
• Conduct field investigations and infrastructure assessments.
• Support project closeout, including as-builts, O&M manuals, training, warranties, and system turnover.

**This is a NIGHT SHIFT Position (From 10:00pm to 6:00am)**

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager II with a strong MEPF background to support a major terminal improvement program at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).

The Project Manager will support the planning, design, construction, testing, commissioning, and turnover of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, building automation, and related building systems. The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex MEP systems on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects in active operational environments.

• Coordinate MEPF design, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with designers, contractors, consultants, vendors, operations, and maintenance teams.
• Review RFIs, submittals, technical changes, and construction documentation.
• Identify and resolve design, constructability, and system-integration issues.
• Coordinate system shutdowns, tie-ins, phasing, and activities affecting existing operations.
• Conduct field investigations and infrastructure assessments.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam; familiarity with Revit/BIM coordination tools preferred.
• PE, PMP, LEED, or other relevant professional certification is a plus.

This is an on-site position at LAX and is not a work-from-home opportunity. Some after-hours or weekend work may be required based on project needs.
