Overview

The Project Manager II / Assistant Project Manager (MEPF) reports to the assigned Senior Project Manager and is responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and operational interfaces of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection (MEPF) and specialty systems design and construction activities within an assigned Terminal Development and Improvement Program (TDIP) project. TDIP is a major capital program focused on delivering projects that modernize LAX passenger terminals to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, safety, and system reliability across the airport.

Position Description Summary

The TDIP Assistant Project Manager (MEPF) manages the technical scope, cost, schedule, and performance of MEPF systems and building infrastructure throughout design and construction. This role ensures the development and implementation of design coordination, installation, and turnover plans, while proactively managing risks associated with MEPF system installation, startup, and operational impacts to existing facilities.

Essential Job Duties
  • Serve as primary technical liaison for MEPF systems

  • Lead procurement and technical evaluation of consultants, contractors, and vendors
  • Oversee installation, testing, startup, and commissioning activities
  • Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and resource plans
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to minimize operational disruptions
  • Identify and resolve technical, constructability, and integration challenges
  • Conduct field investigations and infrastructure assessments
  • Maintain documentation for design criteria, submittals, testing, and commissioning records
  • Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and technical change proposals
