Responsibilities

The MEP Project Manager will oversee all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction activities for one of our large-scale, fast-track projects, with a primary emphasis on electrical systems that are critical to project delivery. This role is responsible for managing subcontractors, budgets, and client/consultant relationships, ensuring quality execution, adherence to schedule, and a safe work environment.

  • Manage all MEP project activities from preconstruction through closeout, with a particular focus on electrical scope, including subcontractor procurement, scope definition, and schedule development.
  • Oversee project budget, monitor cost controls, review and approve invoices, and manage material/equipment procurement and deliveries for electrical and related MEP trades.
  • Evaluate MEP change orders and estimates, with deep involvement in electrical systems, and maintain accurate logs.
  • Coordinate and lead meetings with subcontractors, consultants, and clients; serve as primary liaison with inspectors, utilities, and local authorities on MEP matters.
  • Review construction documents and shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and constructability; lead coordination with design teams and other trades, especially electrical interfaces.
  • Drive the permitting process in collaboration with expeditors and agencies (DOB, utilities, MTA, etc.).
  • Proactively manage risk, quality control, and safety compliance across MEP scopes.
  • Provide leadership to the field team and ensure alignment between project stakeholders and site operations.
Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of experience in electrical construction management, with exposure to mechanical and plumbing systems; proven success managing large-scale, $5M+ projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems (power distribution, emergency/standby power, switchgear, UPS, generators, low voltage, lighting, fire alarm, and related systems), with ability to coordinate across full MEP scope.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • OSHA 30 and Procore experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage subcontractors, consultants, and multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong client-facing presence.
  • A highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
