Job summary

Austin Commercial, a leading construction firm, seeks an MEP Manager I for our Orlando, FL division. The role directs electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life-safety installations across projects, coordinating with owners, architects, and subcontractors.

The position requires a BS in construction management or related field and 5–8 years of MEP experience with GC or mechanical contracting. OSHA-30 certification and strong PM software skills are expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. in construction management/science, engineering, or related field.
• 5-8 years of comparable MEP experience with GC or mechanical contractor.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training required.
• Proficient in project manager software.
• Proficient with cost projection, scheduling, financial analysis, budget reviews and labor reports.
• Ability to build and manage a high performing team.
• Authorized to work in the United States (sponsorship not offered).

Responsibilities

• Evaluates mechanical/electrical design complexity and estimates construction costs and maintenance.
• Serves as technical resource in meetings with owners and architects; explains plan difficulties.
• Attends weekly meetings; outlines work for MEP subcontractors and phasing.
• Ensures timely submission and review of MEP shop drawings; on-time equipment delivery.
• Oversees complete MEP coordination; uses overlay or CAD to prevent space issues.
• Checks routing, dimensions, and installation for mechanical and plumbing; QA/QC of systems.
• Inspects electrical shop drawings and progress; coordinates with city inspectors.
• Coordinates life safety systems and fire safety compliance.
• Reviews changes for cost and schedule impact; resolves issues with architects.
• Liaises between owners, architects, and contractors.
