Job summary

Austin Commercial seeks an experienced MEP Manager II to lead mechanical, electrical, and fire protection coordination for our Orlando projects. You will oversee design constructability, team leadership, and schedule adherence while ensuring compliance with local codes and safety requirements.

You will collaborate with owners, architects, and subcontractors to deliver on-time, high-quality installations and manage shop drawings, cost projections, and field QA/QC activities in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• B.S. in construction management/science, engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of MEP experience with a GC or mechanical contractor.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training (or plan to obtain within first year).
• Proficient in project management software (MS Project or equivalent).
• Proficient with cost projection, scheduling, financial analysis, budget reviews and labor reports.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates complexity of mechanical/electrical designs and estimates construction and maintenance costs.
• Acts as technical resource in owner/architect meetings; explains mechanical/electrical systems.
• Attends weekly coordination meetings with owners, architects and subcontractors.
• Ensures timely submittal and review of MEP shop drawings; coordinates delivery of equipment.
• Coordinates MEP scope across overlays/CAD; prevents space conflicts.
• QA/QC of mechanical systems; verifies proper installation timing.
• Inspects electrical work for rough-ins, switchgear layouts, and codes compliance.
• Liaises between owners, architects, GC and trades to resolve issues.
