Job summary

Prudent Technologies and Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager – MEP Engineering in Houston, TX. This direct-hire role requires a Texas-licensed engineer with 7+ years in MEP consulting to lead multidisciplinary projects and ensure quality deliverables.

You will coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing teams, manage schedules and budgets, and mentor junior staff while liaising with clients and stakeholders. Houston-based role with periodic travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
• Active Professional Engineer license in the State of Texas in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of progressive engineering experience in an MEP consulting environment.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects.
• Experience managing project deliverables, schedules, budgets, priorities, and internal resources.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or providing technical direction to EITs, designers, and junior engineering staff.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, energy codes, engineering standards, and construction practices.
• Experience reviewing construction documents, specifications, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and field reports.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and client-facing communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.
• Ability to travel periodically to client meetings and project sites.
• Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
