Job summary

Arctic Sheet Metal in Portland, OR is seeking a Project Engineer to join our commercial mechanical and plumbing construction team. This role supports project managers and field crews, coordinating submittals, drawings, procurement, and scheduling to drive projects through closeout.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous construction experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to take on increasing responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate submittals, RFIs, procurement, and project docs.
• Review drawings, specifications, and construction docs.
• Track equipment, materials, lead times, and deliveries.
• Assist with schedules, budgets, change orders, and cost tracking.
• Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and general contractors.
• Attend project and coordination meetings.
• Visit jobsites and understand how mechanical systems are built.
• Assist with QA/QC, commissioning, punch lists, and closeout.
• Take on increasing project management responsibility as experience grows.
