Job summary

FlatironDragados in Hawaii is seeking a Project Engineer to track cost data, maintain budget control, and analyze project performance across MEP construction. You will review schedules, resources, and field inputs to keep projects on track.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in MEP construction engineering, with strong cost accounting, estimating, and scheduling skills. You will coordinate with engineering and field teams, manage RFIs, and ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years in MEP construction engineering.
• Experience with cost accounting, basic estimating and resource monitoring.
• Knowledge of design-build or alternative build techniques.
• Ability to delegate work to engineering team.
• Advanced knowledge of contract specifications and QA practices.
• Knowledge of financial reporting, quantity tracking and cost coding.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling and time management.

Responsibilities

• Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm resources.
• Review shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data.
• Provide technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
• Identify risk elements that could impact budget or schedule.
• Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections.
• Update project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting.
• Prepare and manage a three-week work plan and notify of significant schedule changes.
• Initiate and manage RFIs.
• Remit accurate project quantities using cost coding to ensure financials.
• Manage invoicing with accounting team regarding materials and subcontractor needs.
• Review certificates and permits needed to perform work.
• Review Job Hazard Analyses to ensure safety and compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews.
