Job summary

Shiel Sexton Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced MEP Manager to provide technical leadership across planning, design, implementation, and support of HVAC, hydronic, water, power distribution, lighting, and related systems.

The role involves day-to-day support, scheduling, and coordination for the project delivery team with a focus on delivering complex MEP solutions. The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in MEP commercial construction, a construction-related bachelor’s degree, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Eight to ten years of experience in MEP commercial construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related field preferred.
• Experience with computer-based scheduling programs such as Primavera or ASTA;
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, and project management systems such as Viewpoint or Expedition a plus;
• Open to periodic travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and leadership in planning, design, implementation, and support of MEP systems.
• Lead and coordinate MEP project delivery with the client and design teams.
• Manage MEP budgets, contracts, and change orders; oversee scheduling.
• Mentor and develop a strong project team from start to finish.
• Facilitate progress meetings and communications with stakeholders.

Job description

The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Manager has the responsibility for providing technical expertise and leadership in the planning, design, implementation, and support of conventional building systems, including but not limited to HVAC systems, hydronic systems, domestic water systems, power distribution, lighting, storm/sanitary piping, and emergency power systems. In this role, the MEP Manager will be responsible for providing technical expertise, day-to-day support, scheduling, and coordination for the project delivery team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Familiarity of complex MEP building systems.
• Knowledge and ability to manage MEP construction budgets, contract administration, and change order management process.
• Competent ability to work in conjunction with the site management team to develop schedules, plan phasing, and logistics.
• Excellent ability to understand timetable processes
• Accountability for completion of project.
• Leadership skills to facilitate progress meetings and communications with the client, design team, and subcontractor partners.
• Proven ability to implement solutions to challenges.
• A willingness to mentor, model, and develop a strong team mindset from start to finish of a project.
