Job summary

FlatironDragados is seeking a Project Engineer - MEP to monitor costs and resources for the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel expansion. You will analyze production data, track budget and schedules, and coordinate with engineering and field teams on RFIs and project deliverables.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in construction engineering, with strong cost monitoring and scheduling abilities. On-site work in Virginia Beach with a focus on complex marine and tunnel structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• 3+ years construction engineering experience.
• Experience in resource monitoring techniques (cost accounting, basic estimating) and construction technology, process systems and/or structures preferred.
• Identify budget and project costs and recommend options to mitigate delays.
• Knowledge of design-build and other alternative build techniques.
• Knowledge of financial reporting methods, quantity tracking methods and cost coding.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling and production time management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm materials, equipment and resources.
• Review shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements and project data.
• Provide technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
• Identify risk elements that could impact budget or schedule.
• Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections.
• Update project schedule weekly for reporting.
• Prepare and manage a three-week work plan and communicate delays with solutions.
• Manage RFIs and project quantities with cost coding for reporting.
• Coordinate invoicing with accounting for materials and subcontractors.
