Job summary

WSP seeks Construction Engineers for the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion Project in Virginia. This role oversees construction activities on a high-profile, multi-billion dollar project and requires experience in heavy civil, bridge, roadway, ITS, and building structures.

You will conduct inspections, coordinate with contractors and QA/QC, review plans and RFIs, and support Hold Point inspections while ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
• EIT certification required; PE preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-education construction/inspection experience.
• Knowledge of construction methods, inspection practices, and QA/QC processes.
• Preferred licensure/certifications such as ACI, NICET, CCM, and VDOT certifications.
• Valid state driver’s license and experience on complex infrastructure projects using design-build.

Responsibilities

• Oversee construction activities for your discipline and perform inspections and audits.
• Be knowledgeable of plans, specifications, shop drawings, design changes, work plans, and RFIs.
• Coordinate effectively with Contractors and QA/QC representatives.
• Review summaries/reports and ensure inspection reports are complete.
• Track and document quality, construction and schedule issues; assist with resolution.
• Provide technical assistance to inspectors and participate in Hold Point inspections.
