An MEP Mechanical Designer II is responsible for designing and creating layouts and documentation for mechanical building systems, equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Documentation: Use computer-aided design (CAD) and other specialized software tools to generate detailed layout plans, schematics, and drawings for mechanical systems, equipment design for retrofits.
  2. Version Control: Maintain accurate and complete change and version control on all design files, documents, and drawings.
  3. Compliance: Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety requirements, and building codes.
  4. Collaboration: Work with engineers/multidisciplinary teams and project members to ensure efficiency and safety. Conduct or participate in site visits to inspect installations and troubleshoot problems.
  5. Prepare material takeoffs and assist with the sizing and selection of MEP components.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Education: Associate degree in mechanical design, drafting, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in 2D CAD and other design software.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual a Plus
