An established industry player is looking for an Engineer II to join their dynamic team. This role involves developing and implementing innovative products related to microwave characterization, leading projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Engineering and 3-5 years of hands-on experience. Responsibilities include technical writing, managing customer orders, and supervising subordinates. Summary
An Engineer II at CTG is involved in the development and implementation of products and custom applications related to microwave characterization of materials and components. Engineer roles may include modeling & design, measurement, quality assurance, technical writing, research & development, and product manufacture. The Engineer II is expected to specialize in some of these roles but be able to support all the other roles as needed. The Engineer II is also expected to lead longer-term projects that organize other personnel and achieve milestones within a defined budget and schedule. The Engineer II should have good attention to detail, critical thinking / problem solving abilities, and good communication skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
An Engineer II specializes in some of the following areas but is also expected to support all listed below:
Minimum Qualifications
BS Degree in Engineering
3-5 years hands-on engineering experience
Comfortable managing the safe use of power tools for production
Experience gathering vendor quotes (e.g. machine shop)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Proficient with navigating computer/network file systems, and arranging virtual meetings
Specialty software proficiency (e.g. Matlab/Octave, CAD, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project)
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Able to reason at a high level: Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Able to apply advanced mathematical concepts (e.g. calculus, trigonometry, statistics, etc.)
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Walk, stoop, reach as needed
Work in a business office space that includes a lab and production environment
Adhere to all safety and regulatory protocols
Excellent close vision with the ability to focus using a microscope for magnification
Able to mitigate risks associated with electrical and chemical hazards
