Job summary

Shiel Sexton is seeking an MEP Manager to provide technical leadership for planning, design, implementation, and support of conventional building systems including HVAC, hydronic, water, power distribution, lighting, and piping. The role includes day-to-day project support, scheduling, and coordination for the project delivery team.

The candidate will lead meetings, coordinate with clients, designers, and subcontractors, and mentor the team to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Eight to ten years of experience in MEP commercial construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in a construction-related degree is preferred.
• Experience with computer-based scheduling programs such as Primavera or ASTA.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, and project management systems such as Viewpoint or Expedition a plus.
• Open to periodic travel.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with complex MEP building systems.
• Knowledge and ability to manage MEP construction budgets, contract administration, and change order management process.
• Collaborate with site management to develop schedules, plan phasing, and logistics.

MEP Manager at Shiel Sexton

The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Manager has the responsibility for providing technical expertise and leadership in the planning, design, implementation, and support of conventional building systems, including but not limited to HVAC systems, hydronic systems, domestic water systems, power distribution, lighting, storm/sanitary piping, and emergency power systems. In this role, the MEP Manager will be responsible for providing technical expertise, day-to-day support, scheduling, and coordination for the project delivery team.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Familiarity of complex MEP building systems.
• Knowledge and ability to manage MEP construction budgets, contract administration, and change order management process.
• Competent ability to work in conjunction with the site management team to develop schedules, plan phasing, and logistics.
• Excellent ability to understand timetable processes
• Accountability for completion of project.
• Leadership skills to facilitate progress meetings and communications with the client, design team, and subcontractor partners.
