Job summary

WestEd is seeking a temporary MEP Interviewer to conduct structured interviews with referred families for a state-level Migrant Education Program. The role emphasizes careful documentation, respectful and culturally responsive communication, and adherence to confidentiality and escalation procedures.

The position requires familiarity with MIS2000 and state-approved interview protocols, with responsibilities including outreach, eligibility data collection, and timely project recordkeeping.

Qualifications

• Experience with the Migrant Education Program or similar education programs serving mobile or underserved student populations.
• Experience conducting interviews, intake, outreach, eligibility determination, case management, recruitment, or similar direct work with families.
• Ability to follow detailed protocols and apply established procedures consistently.

Responsibilities

• Participate in orientation and training and implement the state-approved interview process.
• Review assigned family information prior to contacting families.
• Conduct structured interviews using state-approved protocols and document outcomes.
• Gather and document information relevant to MEP eligibility using required forms and MIS2000.
• Identify and escalate eligibility questions or issues requiring guidance.
• Maintain complete records of family outreach and interview status.
• Participate in QA activities and implement required corrections.
• Manage interviews through completion with outreach and follow-up.
