Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Direct full lifecycle project delivery for HVAC/MEP installations.

MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) HVAC Commercial Project Manager

oversees the end-to-end planning, budgeting, coordination, and execution of complex building system projects from preconstruction through final commissioning.

Position Overview

• Role Summary: Lead commercial mechanical/HVAC and multidisciplinary MEP scopes, managing subcontractors, project financials, schedules, and technical building performance standards.
• Average Salary Range: $105,000 to $190,000 per year base salary (plus performance bonuses depending on project scale and location).
• Experience Required: Typically 5–8+ years of commercial construction, mechanical contracting, or MEP project engineering experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Execution:
  • Direct full lifecycle project delivery for commercial, industrial, or institutional HVAC/MEP installations.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project schedules, milestone targets, and cash flow forecasts.
• Financial & Subcontractor Management:
  • Oversee project budgets, negotiate vendor and subcontractor contracts, and manage change orders.
  • Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize costs while maintaining strict design and energy efficiency requirements.
• Design & Field Coordination:
  • Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and general contractors to review design drawings and resolve spatial conflicts (often via BIM/Revit coordination).
  • Conduct routine site inspections to monitor installation quality, progress, and adherence to safety guidelines.
• Compliance & Commissioning:
  • Ensure all mechanical and plumbing installations comply with local building codes, ASHRAE standards, and safety regulations.
  • Supervise testing, startup, and system commissioning phases prior to client handover.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial HVAC systems, piping layouts, plumbing, and mechanical design principles.
• Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management tools, scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera), and basic plan reading/BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).
• Core Competencies: Strong leadership, conflict resolution, risk assessment, and communication skills to interface between technical field crews and executive stakeholders.
