Optima Engineering PA in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced MEP Field Engineer to join our employee-owned, Southeast-focused firm. You will inspect MEP/FP installations on higher education, municipal, K-12, and commercial projects, ensuring conformance with design documents, codes, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate holds a North Carolina PE license, a relevant bachelor's degree, and at least five years of field experience.

Competenze

• Registration as North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE).
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years field experience inspecting MEP/FP installations.
• Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations and industry standards.
• Proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD.

Mansioni

• Conduct regular site visits to inspect MEP/FP installations against documents and codes.
• Identify and document non-conforming work with field reports and photos.
• Assess equipment placement, routing, clearances, supports, labeling and constructability.
• Develop and maintain punch lists; verify completion before closeout.
• Attend pre-construction and progress meetings; provide field input on sequencing and constructability.
• Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for conformance with design docs.
• Refer field deviations to the project engineer and track to closure.
• Review contractor payments and change orders for field accuracy.
• Serve as liaison among client, contractor, and design team for timely resolutions.
• Participate in project postmortems for complex projects.
