Job summary

Optima Engineering, an employee-owned MEP engineering consulting firm, seeks an Electrical Engineer to join our team and deliver high-quality electrical design solutions for Southeast buildings. The ideal candidate will possess a North Carolina PE license, a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, and at least five years of MEP experience across education, municipal, K-12, and commercial facilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP building systems design for education, municipal, K-12, and/or commercial facilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical system designs from concept through construction in collaboration with project managers.
• Design lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems meeting project requirements and codes.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and calculations in Revit or AutoCAD.
