Job summary

Wohlsen Construction seeks a proactive MEP Construction Project Manager to coordinate mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and electrical systems across pre-construction, construction and post-construction phases. You will partner with project teams to ensure alignment with plans, specs, codes and industry standards.

You will lead MEP coordination, review shop drawings, manage commissioning and contribute to estimating and preconstruction efforts while traveling to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Construction Technology, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Three to seven years of consistent and progressively responsible MEP construction experience.
• Experience in MEP construction project management with combined MEP contract values up to $5 million.
• Experience in at least one market sector including healthcare, higher education, multifamily, senior living, laboratory, or commercial.
• Working knowledge of commissioning process and ability to manage commissioning.
• Working knowledge of BIM software such as Revit and/or Navisworks.
• Knowledge of MEP systems and controls including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and electrical systems.
• LEED Accreditation a plus. Must have valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote sites.

Responsibilities

• Visit project sites assigned and provide site inspections of MEP installations.
• Monitor project for adherence to plans, specs, contract requirements and codes (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, NEC).
• Oversee MEP installations to ensure quality control.
• Maintain work to complete/punch lists of MEP trades.
• Process and forward weekly activity reports to project stakeholders.
• Participate in submittal and change order processes for MEP phases as needed.
• Assist with MEP coordination shop drawing process and coordination with architectural drawings.
• Facilitate field coordination of all MEP phases and interpret drawings/specifications.
• Monitor MEP contractors to ensure correct equipment and systems are installed and assist with problem resolution.
• Support project schedule development and management for MEP phases; collaborate with client, architects, and subs.
• Participate in commissioning, preconstruction and estimating efforts.
