Job summary

CMTA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern/Co-op for Summer 2027 in Plano, Texas. This onsite, 40-hour work week role offers hands-on training in mechanical/HVAC design and energy-conscious building systems.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (sophomore or junior) with strong interest in building systems and experience in AutoCAD and Revit. Opportunities for growth and potential full-time placement after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore (2nd year), or junior (3rd year).
• Strong interest in Building Systems Mechanical Engineering.
• AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed layout and equipment details of HVAC systems.
• Produce one-line diagrams/schematics.
• Assist the design team in the process of assembling organized sets of drawings.
• May assist in the data collection and/or field verification.
• Work in conjunction with designers and engineers to help develop all aspects of a project.
