Job summary

Turner Townsend is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to implement commissioning tasks for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems on renovation and new construction projects. The role is client-facing, covering concept design through functional testing with substantial travel and some work-from-home flexibility.

Responsibilities include reviewing design documents, planning meetings, writing checklists, conducting site visits, and leading the commissioning team on less complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or building science with related experience.
• FE with PE on track and LEED AP/ commissioning credentials preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication for client facing work.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and project files independently.

Responsibilities

• Verify systems are designed, installed, and operate per design criteria.
• Review MEP design documents, submittals, and sequences of operation.
• Plan, chair, and document commissioning meetings.
• Write system checklists and perform functional tests on all points.
• Conduct site walks and produce observation reports.
• Direct on-site testing and monitor complex systems.
• Track and resolve issues with contractors and owners.
• Create professional reports and deliverables.
