Job summary

Salas O’Brien in San Jose, CA seeks a drafting and design professional to assist engineers in creating construction drawings and organizing project files. You will collaborate with multiple disciplines, verify field conditions, and help set up project file systems.

Ideal candidates have an AS/BS or trade school in drafting, 3+ years of AutoCAD (MEP Revit) and BlueBeam experience, and strong attention to detail. Some construction experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• AS, BS, or Trade school certification in drafting and design.
• High proficiency in AutoCAD 2018 or newer, MEP Revit modeling, and Revu BlueBeam; minimum 3 years of working experience.
• Must have accuracy and detail-oriented for high-quality workmanship.
• Require time-management skills to handle requests and prioritize tasks.
• Proficiency in verbal and written communication and documentation.
• Multitasking, ability to work independently, assumes ownership of assignments.
• Interpersonal skills to work with different departments.
• Construction experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Designer will be assisting engineers in the design process.
• Working with Engineers to generate complete construction drawings per company standards.
• Setting up projects and file systems.
• Coordinating with multiple disciplines.
• Verification and measurements of field conditions.
