Job summary

Salas O’Brien, Inc. is seeking an experienced BIM drafter specializing in MEP for their Merritt Island, FL office. The role focuses on creating and coordinating BIM/Construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD, performing field verifications, and integrating non‑Autodesk data into BIM workflows.

You will lead BIM coordination efforts, guide project teams, and ensure schedules and budgets are met while maintaining high drafting standards and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years drafting/design experience with Revit and AutoCAD focusing on MEP construction drawing packages.
• Experience producing BIM models and coordinating complex design documents within BIM workflows.
• Familiarity with BIM standards, BEP/BxP requirements, and multidisciplinary project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide MEP drafting and design support for new construction, renovation, and facility modification projects.
• Develop and coordinate MEP design and construction documents within BIM, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Initiate BIM model setup using templates; ensure model alignment and documentation across backgrounds.
• Import, convert, and coordinate non‑Autodesk data within Revit for BIM workflows.
• Support BIM coordination and clash detection using Revit and Navisworks; resolve conflicts.
• Lead QA/QC reviews of BIM models and construction documents to ensure compliance with standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and drafters on Revit standards and workflows.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, vendors, and clients for technical accuracy.
