Job summary

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. in Newark, NJ seeks a Drafter to join our design and project support team.

You will convert design concepts into accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for mechanical, plumbing, and ductwork projects, working with project managers, engineers, and architects. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years drafting experience in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trades, with AutoCAD MEP or Revit (Navisworks or SysQue a major plus).

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of dedicated drafting experience in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trades.
• Proficient in AutoCAD MEP or Revit; Navisworks or SysQue experience is a major plus.
• Ability to work full-time, on-site at our Newark, NJ headquarters.
• Strong English communication skills to coordinate with project managers and teams.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive 2D shop drawings and coordinated 3D mechanical, plumbing, and ductwork models from plans
• Utilize AutoCAD MEP and Revit to draft spatial layouts for commercial projects
• Run clash-detection workflows using Navisworks to resolve spatial conflicts
• Collaborate with Project Managers and field supervisors to integrate feedback into submittals
• Organize and maintain digital drawing logs, revisions, and BIM files
