Job summary

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking a Drafter to join our design and project support team in Newark, NJ. The Drafter will convert design concepts into accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC projects, collaborating with PMs, engineers, and architects.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of drafting experience in plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical trades and is proficient with AutoCAD MEP or Revit, with Navisworks a major plus. On-site work required.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years drafting experience in plumbing, HVAC or mechanical trades.
• Proficient in AutoCAD MEP or Revit.
• Navisworks or SysQue experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret complex commercial blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D shop drawings and 3D mechanical, plumbing, and ductwork models from plans.
• Use AutoCAD MEP and Revit to draft spatial layouts for commercial construction.
• Run clash-detection workflows with Navisworks to flag conflicts before fabrication.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and field staff to incorporate feedback into submittals.
• Maintain digital drawing logs, revisions, and BIM files.
