Job summary

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking an experienced Drafting Manager to guide our design and project coordination team on active projects.

You will oversee shop drawings, mentor the drafting staff, and ensure all drawings meet codes and company standards to support field installation. The role requires strong CAD proficiency, leadership, and detail-oriented collaboration with Presidents and Project Managers to drive accurate, constructible drawings from rough sketches through final

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in drafting, architecture, engineering or a related field.
3-5 years of demonstrable experience as a Drafter.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and the ability to produce high-quality drawings.
Strong attention to detail and precision in drafting, ensuring that all dimensions and specifications are accurate.
Familiarity with construction and manufacturing processes with an understanding of design standards.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to find practical solutions to design challenges.
Additional certification from the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare shop drawings using CAD software to produce detailed 2D/3D drawings, floor plans, elevations, and cross-sections.
Work from rough sketches or specifications created by engineers and architects to understand project requirements.
Add detail to architectural and mechanical plans for proper installation.
Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products.
Ensure all drawings meet industry standards, building codes, and project-specific guidelines.
Work closely with president and project managers for accurate drawings.
Other duties as assigned.
