Job summary

Actalent in Novi, MI is seeking a Project Engineer to manage tasks from bidding through closeout on commercial construction projects. The role offers exposure to estimating, RFI management, subcontractor coordination, and progress tracking.

You will split time between office and field, collaborate with project managers and superintendents, and help maintain schedules, safety measures, and close-out documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a similar field.
• 2+ years of experience as a Construction Project Engineer, preferably with a general contractor.
• Experience generating RFIs and tracking submittals.

Responsibilities

• Bidding / Preconstruction: solicit bids, prepare bid support, and coordinate RFIs.
• Site Safety: conduct subcontractor safety orientations and maintain safety records.
• Document Control: manage drawings, submittals, RFIs, and logs.
• Project Scheduling: assist with look-ahead schedules and progress tracking.
• Close-Out: prepare punch lists and assemble close-out binders.
