Job summary

Care New England Health System is seeking a part-time Mental Health Worker on evenings at Butler Hospital in Providence, RI. You will support RNs in direct patient care, model professional standards, and help meet patients' daily living needs, contributing to a safe, therapeutic unit environment.

The role emphasizes advocacy, communication, and ongoing professional development in mental health settings, with a CNA license preferred and a 24/48 schedule every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences preferred; behavioral health experience acceptable in lieu.
• Experience working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients preferred.
• Candidate must have excellent written and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient advocate role and meets patients' service needs.
• Assists with activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment on the unit through observation and interaction.
• Participates in self-development related to the mental health worker role.

Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients’ activities of daily living. Insures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation monitoring, interacting and providing/assisting in groups

Duties & Responsibilities

Consistently adheres to Butler Hospital service standards

Provides role as patient advocate through his/ /her own role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients' needs for service

Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients’ activities of daily living.

Insures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation monitoring, interacting and providing/assisting in groups

Commits to self-development as it pertains to the role of mental health worker.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred and/or comparable behavioral health experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Experience in working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients.

Candidate must have excellent written skills.

Excellent communication skills

C.N.A. Preferred: 2% Pay Differential Available to Applicants who maintain an Active CNA License.

Schedule: 24/48 Part Time Evenings - Every Other Weekend
