Job summary

Butler Hospital is seeking a dedicated mental health worker to support patient care on the Delmonico 2 unit. The role emphasizes advocacy, assisting with activities of daily living, and helping maintain a safe, therapeutic environment under RN direction.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s in social sciences or related behavioral health experience, strong written and verbal communication, and at least familiarity with CNA duties. Evening shifts with every other weekend are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred and/or comparable behavioral health experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
• Experience in working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients.
• Candidate must have excellent written skills.
• Excellent communication skills
• C.N.A. Preferred: 2% Pay Differential Available to Applicants who maintain an Active CNA License.

• Provides role as patient advocate through his/ /her own role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients’ needs for service.
• Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients’ activities of daily living.
• Insures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation monitoring, interacting and providing/assisting in groups.
• Commits to self-development as it pertains to the role of mental health worker.
