Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago is seeking a Mental Health Worker (Inpatient/Outpatient) to support licensed nursing staff and provide direct patient care for adults and elders. This full-time role includes assisting with daily living activities and documenting care within Nursing Structure Standards.

Under supervision, you will help maintain a safe, clean unit, perform some clerical duties, and participate in an interdisciplinary care team, with a rotating schedule

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant issued by the State if a CNA.
• If not a CNA, a minimum of one year experience working as Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting preferred.
• BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• One (1) year prior mental health experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care including activities of daily living.
• Supports the unit functions and maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors and co-workers; communicates pertinent patient information to the supervising RN.
• Performs some clerical duties as assigned and provides basic nursing care for the adult and geriatric patients.
