Job summary

Hudson Regional Health is seeking a Mental Health Worker for a part-time evening shift in Hoboken, NJ. The role involves observing and assisting psychiatric patients, maintaining a therapeutic environment, and participating in group therapy and staff meetings.

BA/BS in psychology or related field is required, with 2–4 years of experience; AHA BLS is preferred. Hours are 3pm–11:30pm with rotational weekends; benefits are prorated for part-time positions.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assist assigned mental health patients and help with daily living activities, therapeutic activities, and socialization.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and ensure patient/staff safety.
• Attend and participate in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings.
• Record patient information including vital signs, weight, glucose monitoring, and demeanor.
• Communicate with patient's family as needed.

Main Functions

• Observes and assists assigned mental health patients and helps with daily living activities, therapeutic activities, and socialization .
• Responsible for the overall maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit and to ensure the safety of patients and staff .
• Attends and participates in group therapy, in-service education, and staff meetings .
• Performs and records information about patients including vital signs, weight, glucose monitoring, and demeanor .
• May communicate with the patient's family as needed .

Education & Experience

• Education: BA/BS in Psychology, Social Work or related field
• Experience: At least 2-4 years related experience
• Qualification: AHA BLS preferred

Part-time with prorated benefits, Evening shift. 3pm to 11:30pm. Rotational weekend Saturday and Sunday.
48 hours per pay period.
