Job summary

CMHA-CEI in Lansing, Michigan is seeking a paraprofessional to provide mental health services under supervision of the Case Management Team 3. Duties include assisting consumers in utilizing community resources, securing benefits, and learning daily living skills, plus transporting clients to appointments.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED, at least six months experience with emotional impairments, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a valid Michigan

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Case Management Team 3 Coordinator, provides a variety of paraprofessional mental health services to consumers, both in the office and the community or in consumer homes. Job duties include but are not limited to; assisting consumers in utilizing community resources,securing benefits, learning daily living skills, and medication deliveries. Duties also include providing transportation for consumers from state and out of area hospitals, including local urgent medical appointments and scheduled appointments.This position will also assist professional staff in identifying problem areas, developing and carrying out consumer treatment plans. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI's mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

Possession of a High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency is required. A minimum of six months experience working with persons with emotional impairments is required. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally is required. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable means of transportation for job related use required.

Conditional Employment Requirements

Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police clearance check, and verification of an acceptable Michigan driving record. An individual may be excluded from consideration based upon driving record. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours

$19.85 - $22.23 an hour. 40 hours weekly; Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.
