Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago is seeking a Full Time Nursing Assistant to support adult and geriatric patients under RN supervision. You will assist with activities of daily living, document patient care, and help maintain a safe, clean environment on the Behavioral Health unit.

This role requires a valid CNA license or equivalent hospital experience, BLS within 30 days, and familiarity with medical terminology. On-site parking and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid CNA license issued by the State.
• If not a CNA, must have a minimum of one year experience as Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting.
• BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• One year prior mental health experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care including ADLs.
• Support unit functions and maintain a safe, clean environment for patients, visitors and staff.
• Communicate pertinent patient information to the supervising RN.
• Perform some clerical duties as assigned and provide basic nursing care for adults and geriatrics.
• Follow Nursing Structure Standards, Hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

• Schedule: Full Time, Days, 7:00 am – 7:30 pm (rotating weekends and holidays)
• Hospital: Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital
• Location: 2233 W Division St, Chicago, IL 60622
• Compensation: $18.65 to $27.01 per hour
• FREE PARKING ON SITE

Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervision of the RN, LVN or Charge RN assist the licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care including assistance with activities of daily living. Supports the unit functions and maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors and co‑workers; functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary care team and communicates pertinent patient information to the supervising RN. Performs some clerical duties as assigned and provides basic nursing care for the adult and geriatric patients. Performs responsibilities within the guidelines of the Nursing Structure Standards, Hospital/Nursing Policy and state regulatory and accrediting requirements.

• Must have current and valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant issued by the State if a CNA. If not a CNA, must have a minimum of one year experience working as Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting.
• BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.
